FAQs Answered

We recommend submitting your application at least six weeks before your intended start date. This allows us time to review your application and arrange a meeting to discuss the position further.

Especially for foreign applicants, please keep in mind that the Indian volunteer visa application process can take time, so ensure you apply with enough time between your application and the desired start date.

We request a minimum commitment of three months for all positions. However, for certain specific projects, we may consider accepting shorter timeframes.
A good working proficiency in English is essential, as you will be working with a multicultural team in programs focused on providing quality education in English. While not required, knowledge of a local language (such as Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, Gujarati, or any South Indian language) is a definite advantage when interacting with the local community, and it can expand the pool of tasks and projects you could assist with.
Volunteers are expected to work independently and be adaptable to the team’s needs. However, our staff will be as supportive as possible and available for guidance. You will have a designated point of contact, who will help you during the integration process, and will then coordinate and review your tasks and projects regularly.

Volunteer placements are based on a combination of your interests and the needs of our programs.

We assess your skills and discuss the role with you before finalising the placement to ensure that both you and our team are aligned and happy with the assignment.

We are unable to provide financial compensation for volunteers. However, we offer support with practical aspects of your trip, including advice on visas, accommodation, SIM cards, transportation, and more. Before your arrival, we will send you a comprehensive volunteer handbook with essential information to help you prepare.
